DLS - II
The DLS–II aimed to examine normal development from middle to old age and identify the "normal" psychological, social, and biomedical changes that characterize middle and later life. It was initiated to complement features of the First Duke Longitudinal Study (DLS – I) by including a younger sample of late middle-aged adults. Participants in DLS-II were selected from a list of Durham, North Carolina area subscribers to a health insurance provider. There were around 500 participants at baseline, aged from their mid-40s to early-70s. Data were collected in four waves over six years: 1968-1970, 1970-1972, 1972-1974, and 1974-1976.
